It's been a long wait for users to be able to stream Sky content on Android smartphones running a version later than 2.3 Gingerbread. However, only three additional phones are compatible with the app, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note.
Sky said: "We’re very pleased to be able to announce that earlier today we released an update delivering support for the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on compatible Sky Go Android smartphones."
It's good news but in favour of Samsung owners, much to the dismay of Sky customers with other handsets such as the HTC One X.
There are other problems, too, as Nick P.G stated: "And as expected, HDMI output has been prevented." There's also the question of when Sky will update the app for the now latest version of Android, 4.1 Jelly Bean.
The news comes shortly after Sky launched its Now TV internet streaming service.
