Samsung Galaxy Tab S: Release date

Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will be available in the UK from 4 July 2014, so that's not long to wait. See: The 25 best tablets of 2014

Samsung Galaxy Tab S: Price in the UK

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S range is positioned at the high-end of the market, directly competitng with the likes of Apple's iPad Air and iPad mini. The Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will cost you £449 at launch. Add £100 to that figure for 4G LTE connectivity. See: Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 vs iPad Air

UPDATE: Samsung has lowered the price of the Galaxy Tab S models to match their iPad rivals. They will now cost £399 for the 10in model and £319 for the 8in model.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S: Features

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 sports a 10.5in display, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 sports (you guessed it) an 8.4in display. Both displays have 2560x1600 (WQXGA) Super AMOLED displays, which makes the 10in tablet 288 ppi and the 8in tablet 359ppi.

They both run Android 4.4 KitKat, and are powered by Samsung's own Exynos 5 Octa processor, which pairs four 1.9GHz cores with four 1.3GHz cores. They have 3GB RAM each and are available in 16- or 32GB versions with microSDXC slots for up to an extra 128GB memory.

8Mp cameras with LED flash can be found on the back of both tablet sizes, while a 2.1Mp camera is found on the front.

When it comes to connectivity and other features, both tablets support 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi with MINO, Bluetooth 4.0, IR, GPS and a fingerprint scanner.
