We're still a couple of weeks away from a possible, and likely, Galaxy S5 Unpacked 2014 Episode 1 launch event but cases for the smartphone are already on sale. Mobilefun has already put up a range of Trident cases for the device which start at £24.99. See also: Samsung Galaxy S5: Release date, price, rumours, new features and leaked images.
"Planning on getting a Galaxy S5? Why not be super prepared and pre-order a case now!" the retailer Tweeted.
Although the device is yet to be announced by Samsung, the cases suggest a very square design for the Galaxy S5 – far removed from the rounded curves of the Galaxy S4. It looks as if the power button will reside on the right and the volume rocker on the left with the microUSB and headphone jack at the bottom and top respectively.
The cases feature 'shock-absorbing silicone' and 'outer layers of hardened polycarbonate, designed to provide the ultimate protection for your Samsung Galaxy S5'. Buttons are fully functional through the case and the headphone jack and USB port are accessible through silicone plugs. See also: Samsung Galaxy S5 homescreen software to mimic Google Now.
As well as cases, more confirmation of the Galaxy S5 specifications has been found online. HDBlog spotted AnTuTu benchmarks showing the device will use a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, although it's unclear whether the chip is 64-bit or not. It also adds to the rumour that the GS5 will use a 2K 2560 x 1440 resolution – the screen size is thought to be 5.25in.
