Sagem has joined forces with Puma to develop a smartphone aimed at sports enthusiasts.

The Puma Phone measures 102x56x13mm and includes a 2.8in 240x320 resolution touchscreen.

A solar panel on the back of the handset charges the battery, while a stopwatch, GPS tracker and a pedometer enable fitness fanatics to make best use the phone during exercise.

Puma also describes the phone's box as "eco-friendly", further enhancing its green credentials.

As well as a 3.2Mp camera with LED flash, 3G, Bluetooth and USB 2.0 connectivity, Puma said the smartphone will come with a "solarometer" that will inform users how much of the sun's energy their phone has used.

The Puma phone will hit the market in April, although pricing and networks have yet to be released.
