Austrian company, Emporia, is launching a phone for those aged 50-plus.
The Emporia Life phone has a simple design with no unnecessary, complicated high-tech features. It also includes a large built-in emergency button on the back of the handset, a loud speaker which is hearing aid compatible and big keypad. The phone’s monochrome, LCD screen features large fonts and an orange backlight, making it easy to read.
The device enables only basic functions such as making or receiving calls and sending or receiving SMS messages. Navigation through menus is kept to a minimum for ease of use thanks to features such as the contact list being shown on the first screen. Ringing tone and loudspeaker volume can both be set to very loud for those with hearing problems.
The Life phone is due to become available worldwide in May.
