Leading distributor, Ingram Micro, has signed a distribution agreement with local mobile accessories specialist, Bojak.

Established in 2012, Bojak's accessories include a growing range of Bluetooth speakers with hands-free capability, universal battery packs, bags and cases, and stands for tablets and mobiles.

It is also launching a range of sporting accessories under the BojakSports brand.

Unusually for an accessories manufacturer, Bojak is based in New Zealand which, according to Bojak managing director, Rick Molloy, is a great advantage in servicing the local market.

"We hold our stock in NZ, and we do our support and service here too, so we can be extremely responsive -- something that's often difficult for overseas vendors who have lead times to manage," he said.

"We have manufacturing partners in China, and we have sales and services offices in Hong Kong and Australia as well."

Ingram Micro general manager A/NZ, Apple Division, Kelly Eyerman, said it's great to see a Kiwi company producing products that compete with the best of international vendors.

"Bojak has a great range of products for mobile users, and I think they'll do extremely well in this market. It's nice for Kiwi consumers to be able to buy something that is essentially a Kiwi brand too. That's not that common in this industry."

Molloy said Bojak focuses on products that suit a wide range of mobile devices.

"Many of our customers these days, have multiple brands of mobile devices, and they're looking for accessories -- like Bluetooth speakers and battery packs -- that will work seamlessly with all their devices."

He said Ingram Micro's reach into the channel would enable Bojak to really get its products out to a wide range of customers.

Bojak's distribution agreement with Ingram Micro takes effect immediately, and Eyerman says Ingram Micro has stock already in its warehouse.
