Halloween has come early, in the form of a new iPhone case out of Japan that's in the form of a severed baby's hand.

The Strapya World Dokkiri Hand Case for iPhone 4 is universally being hailed as the creepiest iPhone accessory yet, not that the Dr. Frankensteins around the world aren't working on even more ghoulish creations.

ODDITIES: Is there anything the coffee- and balloon-powered Universal Gripper can't handle?

The handy $64 case, available in September, hardly needs marketing but here it is: "You could hold hands with your iPhone to make sure you don't drop it. Or if you are feeling really lonely, this case may reach out to you and give you company."

Apple watchers often keep an eye on new case designs to get a sense of what new models of the iPhone might look like, but the Dokkiri hand Case appears to be strictly for the iPhone 4 (a women's hand model is also advertised).

There are many unusual iPhone cases, including those shaped like everything from cameras to chocolate bars, but the Hand Case seems to take the cake.
