Half of Brits haven't switched their broadband provider in the last four years, says Consumerchoices.co.uk.
According to the comparison website, many Brits may be stuck on a 'legacy tariff' which is likely to be expensive and at a slower speed than packages recently released.
Consumerchoices.co.uk says the average cost of Broadband has fallen by 37 percent in the past four years.
Michael Phillips, product director, Consumerchoices.co.uk, said: "These results are very disappointing as there is a fantastic selection of ISPs and packages available to consumers. Major providers continue to battle it out for market share and in so doing drive through cost savings and service improvements.
"I would urge these consumers to shop around for a better deal using an Ofcom accredited comparison service to find out what is available in their area. UK consumers stuck on 'legacy tariffs' are really losing out here as the price of broadband has fallen while the quality of service available has greatly improved in the last four years.
Phillips also urged consumers that were happy with their current provider to ask to be put on a more up-to-date package as "the benefits to their service and bank balance will be instantaneous".
