Yoshi and Princess Peach-themed Wii Remotes will sit beside the latest iteration of Nintendo's racing classic, Mario Kart 8, across retail stores and the Nintendo eShop when the game goes on sale in Australia on May 31.

The two controllers -- Wii Remote Plus Yoshi and Wii Remote Plus Peach -- will be priced at $69.95 each. Much like the colours of the respective characters, the former has a white front with orange, green and white buttons and a green shell, while the latter is pink with touches of yellow and blue.

Nintendo will also sell a 'Mario Kart 8 Premium Pack' priced at $429.95. The hardware bundle will contain the game, a black Wii U Premium console with 32GB of internal storage (some of which is reserved for system data), a black Wii U GamePad controller, and Sensor Bar.

In addition to returning veteran characters, Mario Kart 8 will allow you to use all seven of Browser's minions. The game will contain 32 new and remixed classis courses; Nintendo said these are "influenced by antigravity" which allows you to race "upside down or up vertical surfaces." There will also be new items, as well as 12-player online competitive play and four-player local multiplayer.
