Bloody Roar was always an interesting departure from standard fighting games, so it's no surprise that there was a lot of fan fervor at the announcement of Bloody Roar 5 heading for development.

At least, there was excitement, until the announcement turned out to be fake. From a fake Twitter account, no less! It all started last week with a Twitter post from the otherwise legit-sounding @HudsonSoftLtd account, who posted a Tweet saying the following:

However, subsequent updates showed that the update was a big hoax, well after many sites from Destructoid to G4 to IGN had already circulated the story. For those keeping score, Hudson Soft is currently owned by Konami, while Bloody Roar developer Eighting has most recently been putting in work on the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 series. If anything good can come out of this, maybe the developers will notice this buzz and put the Bloody Roar series into a DLC release.
