Japanese platform-adventure game and cult classic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is the sequel to Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. The protagonist, Dracula's son Alucard, is on a mission to find and defeat Dracula. He can transform into a wolf, bat and mist to help him explore the castle, but only after those forms have been obtained. It's an open-ended game with RPG elements to it that made it a big hit in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped are three absolute favourites here in the PC Advisor office, so they're definitely last but not least. It's a platform game that requires Crash make his way through various levels as quickly and effectively as possible by avoiding dangerous obstacles, smashing crates and jumping on (and therefore killing) enemies in order to unlock boss levels and eventually evil Doctor Neo Cortex, who is actually Crash's creator.
