TalkTalk YouView

TalkTalk has announced it will be offering customers extended coverage of Sky programming via YouView.

Customers of TalkTalk pay TV with YouView boxes can now get access to Sky Sports on a subscription basis. For £30 per month customers can access Sky Sports 1, 2, 3, and 4 plus Sky Sports F1. See also: YouView adds Yesterday and Really to catch-up list.

TalkTalk said the deal is available thanks to the introduction of multicast technology. Sky's Now TV platform will still offer customers the option to pay £9.99 for 24 hours access to the channels.

Tristia Harrison, managing director of TalkTalk, said: "This deal further cements TalkTalk's position as the destination for value-seeking families who want flexible access to great content. We are delighted to have further extended our relationship with Sky. This builds on our announcement last November that we would be offering Sky Movies and Sky Sports on-demand to subscribers at no extra cost."

The news comes as Sky celebrates its 25th birthday. TalkTalk will continue to show Sky entertainment channels and Sky Movies for another three years, it confirmed. In addition, it will start offering catch-up content from channels including Sky 1, Sky Living and Sky Arts. Read: BT YouViewers can now record internet channels.

As we embark upon our biggest ever year of entertainment, it allows us to extend the reach of must-see content and further grow our wholesale business. We continue to build strong, mutually-beneficial partnerships that allow us to bring our great channels to even more UK homes."
