Intel’s efforts to find a Viiv-certified ‘sexy’ PC worthy of a $1m prize are reaching a climax.

The chipmaker set up the competition last September, asking designers to build a Core Duo-based compact system with a novel design, promising the winner $1m in cash. The prototypes are now viewable on the Intel Core Processor Challenge PC Design website, and Intel is offering you the chance to vote for your favourite. Five ‘eligible’ voters – you must be based in the US and over 18 years of age – will be selected for a $100 random prize giveaway, although the response has been rather cool so far.

The Decomatic 12b (picture below) from SlipperySkip Computers is currently top choice, with 204 votes.
