More news from CES - a kind soul at HP's UK PR agency has just given me a sample specification and pricing for a Pavillion dv5000 laptop that will be available in the UK. However, there are some strict conditions - I have to tell you that it won't be available for another two weeks yet, and you will only be able to buy it from Staples. Got that? Not for two weeks, only from Staples.

Now that's clear, here's the spec - an AMD Turion ML32 processor, 512MB of DDR RAM, a 100GB hard drive, a dual-layer DVD writer, a 15.4in screen, 802.11b/g facilities and Microsoft Works. And it will cost £699 including VAT.

Secondly, something that was mentioned in Bill Gates' keynote speech - Microsoft and British Sky Broadcasting, or BSkyB, are planning on creating a Windows Media Center version of Sky's forthcoming Sky by broadband service. I hope to bring you further details on this tomorrow.

But for now, goodnight...
