While Microsoft has been working on touch technologies for at least as long as Apple, no one in the wide world knows about it.

So it’s surely good news that finally Ballmer and co are shouting about it in public – at last in a not-so-stupid manner.

Microsoft has finally realised that the business computing device of the future is not the size of a table but more like a laptop (running Windows 7).

So how far ahead of the curve does that make Apple’s iPhone?
