Several online music services, including Apple, have been sued by Richard 'Richie' Ramone after the musician claimed he's owed almost $1m in royalties, according to the Associated Press.
Reinhardt said that he never authorised online sales of songs that he wrote for the band between 1983 and 1987. Reinhardt named Wal-Mart, Apple, RealNetworks, the band's management and the estate of its lead guitarist John Cummings - better known as Johnny Ramone - in the lawsuit.
Reinhardt has also asked the court to issue an injunction preventing further use of the songs 'Smash you', 'Somebody put something in my drink', 'Human kind', 'I'm not Jesus', 'I know better now' and '(You) Can't say something nice'.
Representatives from Apple could not immediately be reached for comment.
