Sky News for iPhone 1.8

There are numerous ways to keep abreast of the latest news, particularly when you are equipped with your iPhone. Many news web sites will send out text messages when important stories break, and you always have the option of visiting news web sites directly. However, many sites are not well suited to delivering a large amount of information on a small screen, but the Sky News app has been designed specifically with this in mind.

The clean, clear interface of the app is perfectly suit to a touch screen device, and with a couple of presses, you can scan through the latest stories and well as news from the UK, sports and business news. A separate section is available to view videos relating to the top news stories of the day as well as through about showbiz and the weather – many stories on the main page also feature videos, but the bulletins are a handy way to view the headlines all in one place.

The Sky News app lacks features such as a search facility or a way to view news which has not been placed into any of the built in categories. As such it is unlikely to be your main source of news but it is still a handy addition to your iPhone.

What's new in 1.8?

- Push notifications have been improved to bring you the latest breaking news even quicker than before
- We've also taken the opportunity to fix a few minor bugs
