O&O DiskImage 4.1 Express

Backing up data is something that all computer owners know they should be doing. But the time involved in deciding which files and folders should be included in a backup means that many people simply never get round to it - only wishing they had when it is too late. O&O DiskImage Express is a free tool which takes the hard work out of backing up your valuable files by creating an image of entire drives or partitions.

Images can be saved to another drive or partition, or stored on a network drive and high levels of encryption can be used to ensure that no data can be accessed without authority. Image compression can be used to help reduce the amount of storage space that is needed to house backups, and entire drives can be restored in just a few clicks of the mouse.

All image that are created can be checked and validated to ensure that the backup process went according to plan, and the option to mount images as virtual drives means that it is possible to browse their contents without the need to restore them first. The free version of the program lacks many of the features of the professional edition, but it is still a very worthwhile tool.
