Getting your movies to play on anything other than your own PC is often a complicated business. You'll need to choose the right format, the most appropriate video codec, the best audio settings, correct resolution and more, and even then you'll often end up with odd playback problems.
DivX Pro makes your life considerably simpler. It includes all the features you'll find in DivX Plus - web and desktop video player, video management tools, a DivX transfer utility and more - but also unlocks the full version of DivX Plus Converter. This provides a simple way to convert your chosen movies into the DivX format, ready for easy playback on millions of DivX-certified devices: DVD and Blu-ray players, the PlayStation 3, mobile phones and more.
The process starts by dragging and dropping your video formats onto the Converter. Most formats are supported, though Flash video (FLV) is an exception, and MPEG-2 import requires an additional plug-in (it's included, but only on a 15-day trial).
Next, you choose a profile representing the type of file you'd like to create: Mobile (up to 320x240 resolution), Home Theater (up to 720x576), HD 720p (1280x720), HD 1080p (1920x1080) or PLUS HD (MKV, H.264, AAC/AC3, up to 1920x1080).
You can optionally choose to combine your movies into a single file, if you like, and that's it, no more complications or confusing options - just click Start and the Converter will go to work, encoding your DivX videos.
Note that there is no trial version of DivX Pro. The download for DivX Plus is included, which you can turn in to Pro, by purchasing a Pro license.
