Just as the name suggests, SecureAnywhere Complete 2012 is Webroot's high-end consumer security suite, which offers strong protection for both your PCs and mobile devices.
The antivirus engine is a lightweight, cloud-based affair. This makes smart choices about the files it checks, so scan times are short (under a minute on our test PC once the initial scan was complete). And it uses very little RAM, perhaps 50MB when scanning, and under 5MB when it's idle.
Elsewhere, a firewall keeps network attacks at bay. An antiphishing module keeps you safe from malicious websites, while a bundled online backup tool allows you to run backups and sync your files via 10GB of online server space.
Identity protection features include the ability to create strong passwords. The suite can remember and store your website logons and other details, encrypting them for safety. And it's then able to automatically log you in to your favourite sites, as well as complete online forms (as long as you're using Firefox or IE, anyway).
The suite includes an Android protection module, which scans your apps for threats, and blocks dangerous websites. It can also help to locate your Android device if it's lost or stolen, and is able to wipe it remotely if there's no alternative (although you'll need a 3 or 4G connection for these features to work).
And an additional iOS module can help you to avoid phishing or other malicious websites, adds a tabbed browsing feature for easier navigation, and secures your online transactions for greater safety.
You don't get a spam filter or parental controls, which may be an issue for a suite costing $79.95. If you'll use the mobile device security features, though, Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete 2012 could still be a very good deal.
