Adobe InDesign CS5.5

Adobe InDesign CS5.5 is a professional publishing tool that can handle anything from simple posters and PDF files, to brochures, magazines and books.

This version sees an enhanced ability to create interactive documents and presentations. In a few clicks you're able to add animations from a lengthy lists of presets, include sound, interactivity, embed video files (including FLV and SWF) and more. Your document can then be output to PDF, SWF, Flash FLA for further processing with Flash Professional CS5, even EPUB eBooks for the iPad and other readers.

Improved graphics handling will speed up your work, no matter what sort of file you're producing. Browse thumbnails to locate the images you need, drag and drop them onto your page, organise them into a grid in a few keystrokes - it's all very quick and easy.

You can do more work than ever within InDesign itself, with its integrated drawing tools, PhotoShop effects, and a new ability to mark up text that even allows you to track copy revisions.

And other tweaks include better page management with a Photoshop-like Layers panel, captions that can automatically be generated from image metadata, and - at last - an option to create different-sized pages within the same document.

Note that the download for Adobe inDesign 5.5 is a "download manager" which installs to your computer, requires you to login with your Adobe user/pass and then choose the components you want to download in full and install. A fairly longwinded process.
