StripeyLines 0.3

The internet has made it significantly easier to track down the best prices for products and services, but when you're out and about in the shops, it is slightly less convenient. While many mobile phones are internet enabled, it can be tricky to visit price comparison web sites to see how online prices compare to those in store.

This is where StripeyLines can help. Using your iPhone's camera you can scan the barcodes of products you are interested in buying and the app will check online prices for you. The products you scan can be saved on your phone and synchronised with an online account ready for viewing on your computer or sharing with others.

The program does not just have to be used to track down the best prices, as it is also possible to read online reviews of scanned products to see what other buyer think. Scanning is a quick and simple process with no need to click a shutter button to perform a scan, and results are displayed swiftly.

There are other similar tools available for the iPhone, but StripeyLines is completely free of charge so there is no reason not to try it out - it could well save you money.
