Acorn 3.0

There is no shortage of image editors for OS X, and Acorn is another application to add to the currently available selection. The program offers a balance between the high-professional tool such as Photoshop and more lightweight packages - and it has a price tag to match.

Everything you would expect to find in an image editor is available in Acorn so almost all of your photo re-touching and editing requirements should be catered for. Where Acorn really shines is in terms of speed. Opening files, saving images and performing edits are all lightning fast.

Support for AppleScript means that it is possible to automate common tasks and there is a powerful screenshot tool available. When taking a screenshot, images can be opened in Acorn and each window that has been captured will be available on its own separate layer.

With support for RAW images, vector shapes, and a wide range of filters, Acorn can be put to a variety of uses. Advanced tools such as perspective transformation, a range of selection tools and much more, Acorn is an impressive image editor at a great price.
