RSS feeds provide a great way to keep up to date with the latest contents from your favourite web sites, and there are a number of dedicated aggregators available. However, as much of your online time is spent using a web browser, it makes sense to use it to access web feeds. This is precisely what Sage allows.
This Firefox extension adds a new sidebar to Firefox which can be used to display and manage the feeds you subscribe to. Making the switch from any other RSS tool is a quick and painless affair as OPML list can be imported in a matter of seconds.
Where Sage really stands out is in terms of looks. Select a feed from the sidebar and the latest posts are displayed in a newspaper style in the main browser window, and as this is controlled by style sheets it can be customised to suit your needs.
Simple sidebar controls are available that make it possible to mark all feeds as having been read, but individual posts can be tagged as required. If you have been accessing feeds through Firefox, all you need to do is to point Sage in the direction of your feeds folder and you're ready to go.
