The Apple Airport Express is an excellent system that enables you to connect the hardware device to any audio or video equipment through your home and stream media content to multiple devices. This means you can walk from room to room and listen to your audio, whilst cleaning the house. If you’re a small business, you could use it (subject to license) to stream the same track, radio or other audio across the office.
As part of the Apple Airport range, there is a 802.11n router that enables you to get the most from your wireless network. Providing everything on your network is 802.11n compatible, then wireless dropouts should be a thing of the past.
The Time Capsule is a network and wireless backup device that enables you to either a run a backup of your Mac or Windows system or simply use the device as a network hard drive.
To use and control any of these devices, you need the Apple Airport Utility. This software device enables you to manage, control and update your Airport Express, Time Capsule or other wireless module.
Note that the Windows version is still v5.6.1.
Both the latest Mac/Windows version of AirPort Utility allow you to configure and manage the new AirPort Express with simultaneous dual band 802.11n. It also allows you to configure the base stations for IPv6 and includes additional bug fixes.
