BullGuard Internet Security 2014 v14.0.276

BullGuard Internet Security 2014 is a very comprehensive security suite with a stack of features.

There's a strong antivirus engine, of course. A firewall detects and blocks network attacks. The vulnerability scanner highlights missing updates for your applications. The spam filter keeps your Inbox clean, browsing protection prevents you accessing malicious websites, parental controls keep your kids safe online, a PC optimisation tool improves system performance, there's an online backup tool (with 5GB free online storage space), and the list goes on.

Improvements in this version start with the antivirus engine, which features an updated behavioural engine, and has improved repair capabilities, while reducing its performance impact on your system.

A new Automatic Maintenance tool runs vulnerability checks, PC tuneups, quick system scans and more, when your system is idle.

A redesigned backup tool is easier to use, and allows you to recover accidentally deleted items for up to 14 days.

Perhaps most obviously, all of this is accessed via a redesigned interface, which clearly displays all the suite's modules and their current status. A new Messaging Centre acts as a central hub for the package, keeping you up-to-date with program events and the status of any ongoing tasks. And there are various tweaks aimed at making the system easier to use, so for instance the Settings dialog can now be switched from Basic to an Advanced view.
