MP3jam 1.1.1.2

MP3jam is a simple but surprisingly capable free tool for locating and downloading anything from individual songs to entire albums (all collected from YouTube, apparently), and with the absolute minimum of hassle.

This is just the kind of tool which we'd expect to try and set up several browser toolbars during its installation process, for instance - but no, there weren't any. Had the program installed something anyway, without asking? No, everything was fine.

Launch MP3jam and you're able to search for artists, album or song titles, with the program displaying popular matching choices as you type. Pressing Enter quickly returns in-depth results, including album art, release dates and track lengths. And if you find something you like, you're able to stream or download individual tracks or entire albums with a click (you even get options to share this on Twitter and Facebook).

And a separate Downloads tab lists everything you've downloaded so far, allowing the program to act as a simple audio organiser and player.

MP3jam is a very well designed music search and download tool, then, which gets just about everything right. And if you're concerned about the copyright issues, keep in mind that you don't have to use it to download anything at all. The program also works very well as a music discovery tool, quickly listing all the albums by a particular artist and allowing you to play individual tracks at a click.
