CyberLink AudioDirector provides a suite of tools for editing, optimising and generally working with a video soundtrack.
The program opens all the main video formats (MPG, MP4, WMV, AVI, 3GP, M2TS, MTS, TS and more), as well as a few audio formats (WAV, WMA, MP3, M4A, FLAC, AIFF,OGG), and can handle up to 7.1 channels of sound.
And the files load in a familiar interface, with AudioDirector displaying a waveform of your chosen audio file, which is then easy to navigate until you find the clip you want to tweak.
The program can then adjust your audio in all kinds of ways: fading it in or out, trimming the soundtrack to a defined point, adjusting the pitch, length, and more. While effects range from a 10-band equalizer, to versatile reverb and delay tools, and even an option to remove vocals from stereo music.
AudioDirector is even better at repairing a soundtrack. An intelligent noise removal tool can strip out some unwanted sounds, for instance. Annoying clicks can be removed almost automatically. And if the damage is severe, then a Visual Repair tool allows you to manually select and paint over any unwanted audio glitches, quickly restoring normal sounds.
Support for VST plugins means there's plenty of scope for expanding AudioDirector's abilities. And of course you can also record and mix new audio, until you've produced the soundtrack you need.
New features start with the quirky Voice Transformer, which changes voice recordings to sound like a man, woman, child, robot, duck, or some custom variation of your own.
Perhaps more usefully, integration with CyberLink Cloud means it's now possible to back up your projects or source materials online, ready for easy access anywhere.
