The Send To menu in Windows is something that is often overlooked, but it is something that can prove incredibly useful. Whether you have taken advantage of what this great little section of the context menu has to offer or not, Send To Toys is on hand to bring you even more options and make it even more useful than ever. In total, you are given the option of adding up to twelve new options to the menu, but you can pick and choose the ones you need.
By default, the Send To menu includes shortcuts that enable you to open files with different programs or send them to different locations, but the installation of this tiny utility also gives you the ability to send files to the clipboard either as a name or as a file that can be pasted elsewhere. You can also choose to send the currently selected file to the Command Prompt, or add it to the Run dialog to save you having to type as much. As well as a straight right click, you’ll also find that additional options open up if you also hold down the Shift key.
You can configure frequently used folders and use the context menu to quickly send files to this location and a similar option can be used to send files to the Recycle Bin. Taking this one step further, file shredding is also available and there are also shortcuts that can be used to create Quick Launch entries, Favorites and much more.
You may want to start by adding all of these new options to the context menu to see which ones you use over time. If you start to find that the menu is too unwieldy or there are features that you simply do not use, anything you do not want can be easily removed using the program’s control panel. After spending a day or two using Send To Toys, you will start to wonder how you ever lived without it – it is one of those indispensible tools you grow to love very quickly.
