If you have an Android tablet or smartphone, you have almost certainly used some form of memory card to expand the amount of available storage. Ordinarily, to ensure compatibility between Windows PC and Macs, media used in your Android device needs to be formatted as a FAT32 drive.
If you were to use a Windows formatted NTFS drive, it could not be used in a Mac, and if you were to use a Mac formatted HFS+ drive it could not be used in a PC. Paragon NTFS & HFS+ Beta is a free tool that helps you to overcome this problem. Providing you have rooted your Android device – or you are happy to do so – this free tool enables you to access data on both NTFS and HFS+ volumes.
The app is particularly useful if you want to copy files from your computer onto your tablet or cell phone, and it helps to avoid any potential compatibility issues as well as eliminating the need to email files to yourself or finding some other roundabout way of copying files from one place to another.
This is a beta version of the app, but it is already looking fairly interesting. The fact that root access is required may be off-putting to some people but for anyone who works with both Macs and PCs, this is a valuable tool that is worth investigating.
