PopOut! The Night Before Christmas 1.3

There are a number of books, stories and films that are associated with Christmas, but one of the most famous and endearing is The Night Before Christmas. This is a poem that has been read by children all over the world in the run up to Christmas, and PopOut! The Night Before Christmas is an updated version of the classic for iPhone and iPad users.

As you might have guessed from the name, this app is a digital version of a pop-up book, and it features some wonderful illustrations and a delightful range of interactive elements. As you finger your way through the book, spinning wheels, pulling tabs and flicking other page elements, you can listen to the delightful piano refrain of O Christmas Tree.

There is a read-aloud option that can be used by younger children to help with reading skills, or you can browse through the book at your own pace. With fifty pages to work through, most of which have some degree of interactivity built into them, there is great value for money here.

The PopOut! The Night Before Christmas is available for both iPhone and iPad, and while the latter is undeniably the most impressive, both are strikingly good looking apps. This is clearly an app that has been designed with children in mind, but it is one that can be appreciate by iOS users of all ages. Whether you want to relive your childhood or just love everything related to Christmas, this is a great purchase.
