There are a number of tasks you may want to perform with music files. As well as playing them, you are likely to want to organize them to make them easier to navigate, tag them to allow for easier filtering, sync them with a portable music player and rip audio from CDs. Rather than using four or more different programs to achieve all of this, you need look no further than Helium Music Manager.
Your existing music collection can be easily imported into the program, and there is support for a wide range of formats including MP3, Ogg, Flac and many more. If you already have a music library in iTunes or Windows Media Player, this can be imported in next to no time. The tagging of audio files is made easier thanks to support for batch operations, and you can choose to have your tag automatically pulled in from one of several online music databases.
Your collection can be analyzed and duplicate tracks automatically removed, and you can also choose to check for and repair broken MP3 files. Of course, you can also use the program to rip CDs to digital formats, create your own custom playlists that can then be burned to CD, and synchronize tracks with your iPod or other MP3 player. Other options include the ability to convert tracks between formats quickly and easily.
The free version of the program can be used by a single user working with up to 20 music library groupings. The ability to perform basic searches is included as is the ability to rip CDs at up to 160 kbps and music playback with five different shuffle modes. Upgrading to the Premium or Network version ($29 and $49 respectively) increases the bitrate at which CDs can be ripped adds the ability to use an iPhone or iPod as a remote control and, in the case of the Network version, increases the number of users that can work with the software.
