ConvertAll Portable 0.5.2

Whether you are cooking, taking measurements or looking at the weather, there are countless occasions when you will need to convert figures between different units. Looking at an old cookery book may list the ingredients in Imperial measurements, but you may prefer to work in metric. If you don’t fancy the idea of turning to Google every time you need to make a conversion, ConvertAll may be what you have been looking for.

ConvertAll Portable is a portable app that can be run from a USB drive without the need for installation. This makes it an ideal candidate for adding to your portable app collection that you take out on the road with you, as you just never know when it might come in handy.

You may wonder why there is a need for ConvertAll when there are so many other conversion tools available. One reason is the fact that ConvertAll is virtually unlimited in what it is able to convert. By this, we do not just mean that it supports a wide range of units, but you can convert almost absurd units if you feel so inclined – if you’ve ever wondered how many watches are in a year, you can find out here.

While ConvertAll is certainly versatile and hard to trip up, where the app does fall down is in terms of looks – design is not its strong point. There are some customization options available if you like the idea of changing colors, but more importantly, it is also possible to change how the program displays information – you can choose how many decimal places should be display, for example. There is also a handy list of available units complete with comments and descriptions which are an interesting addition.
