When you have a bank of PCs to maintain, a lot of the routine tasks can end up taking up a disproportionate amount of support time, even if it’s simply moving from one PC to another. You can set up remote support, but it would be a lot handier if you could simply set error checking and defragmentation tasks to run from a central point. This is what Auslogics OnCluster aims to do.
The software is based upon Auslogics’ home PC maintenance suite. It enables administrators to provide set and forget maintenance for all routine tasks, ensuing that employees’ PCs are running quickly and with minimum fuss. If necessary, an administrator can take remote control of a workstation to correct problems that go beyond the routine while chatting to the user via an onscreen chat window.
The administrative console can be accessed from any computer on the network. It needs no additional software installed as it runs directly in a web browser, so it’s easy to reach no matter where in the organisation you are. You can manage all workstations connected to the network or on a remote site connected via a VPN.
Users can perform simple maintenance tasks themselves or they can call on administrator help, using the on screen chat facility. An administrator can quickly check the status of each workstation and organise them into groups for easy management. General clean up tasks and defragmentation can be run on multiple computers at once, again saving you precious support time.
Prices start at $49.95 per workstation, with a minimum order of 5 OnCluster clients.
Note that you need a serial code to test the trial version. To get your serial code, fill out the form at http://www.oncluster.com/download/ and you'll receive a code by email.
