Norton Mobile Security Lite 3.8.6.1533

Symantec is a well-known name in the security arena, but they are best known for their desktop software. Norton Mobile Security Lite, however, is a security package aimed at Android users that includes many of the features you would expect to find in desktop security software. In addition to virus protection - that includes scanning downloads and memory cards - there are a range of other features that help to keep your mobile secure.

If you phone is lost or stolen, Norton Mobile Security will automatically lock the phone when the SIM card is removed so that no other SIM can be used in it. There are also a number of remote access options that you can control manually if you discover that your phone has gone missing, including the ability to lock your phone so it cannot be used to make expensive phone calls.

There is also the option of locating your phone on a map, which can be useful if it has been lost, but may also prove useful if it is stolen as it may helpful to the police. It is likely that your phone includes a large amount of personal information - information that could be used for ID theft - abut the remote wiping feature means that you can easily prevent this from falling into the wrong hands.

The suite also includes features that will appear familiar from desktop security software, such as the blocking of phishing web sites. Another interesting feature that will be welcomed by anyone who has been pestered with unwanted contact, calls and text messages can also be blocked to help boost your privacy.

You can upgrade to a full version within the application for $30.
