Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2013

Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security 2013 is the latest edition of Trend Micro's mid-range consumer security suite.

This means the package includes all the usual security tools: an antivirus engine, firewall, web browsing protection, spam filter and so on.

But you also get features which you won't find elsewhere. Like 5GB of online backup space, say. Some capable parental controls. Trend's Micro Vault allows you to password-protect sensitive files. And there's protection against data theft, as well as a secure file deletion tool, and a System Tuner to revitalise your PC's performance.

Elsewhere, mobile protection now means you can protect up to 3x Windows 8 tablets or Android devices with Trend Micro apps.

And the key new feature this time is Trend Micro's Facebook Privacy Scanner, which at a click will check your Facebook page settings and alert you to any privacy problems (which apps can access your details, who can tag you, see your photos and more).

This isn't exactly a revolutionary upgrade, then. But that doesn't really matter - the package was already so powerful there's little else they were ever going to add - and on balance it's still a very capable security suite.
