Sky News for iPad 1.8

iPad owners have no shortage of ways to keep up to date with the latest news, ranging from visiting any of a number of news web sites to using dedicated apps. Sky News for iPad is one such app from the BskyB stables, and it provides a varied and stylish way to keep abreast of the latest headlines and breaking news.

Working in timeline mode, you can watch and read news from the last 24 hours, while the Top Stories section highlights the most important stories of the day. But as Sky is a broadcaster, it should come as no surprise that the bulk of the content is delivered through live and recorded video. You can watch the Sky new channel output from your iPad, but there are also a number of other streams available.

Any video you do watch can be rewound so you can catch up on anything you have missed, and you can easily read the background of any story to make sure you know about the build-up and history. The app has a distinctive Sky feel to it, which not only gives it a stylish look, but makes it stand out from other news apps.

With an impressive range of videos, photo galleries, and graphics, there is always plenty to look through, and for a limited time, the app and access to Sky’s news service is free of charge.

Note that Sky News for iPad is only available for UK and Northern Ireland users.
