Apple's iOS is not an operating system that is readily associated with photo editing, but they could be just because of the existence of the iPhone. While the small screen of the iPhone is not ideally suited to working with photos, the same cannot be said of the iPad. This is something that TouchUp for iPad goes to prove, making great strides into proving that iOS devices can be used for serious files editing.
TouchUp for iPad includes a number of filters, tools and special effects that can be used to enhance and alter your photographs. Basic improvements can be made by using options such as contrast, brightness and saturation adjustment, but more creative possibilities are also achievable.
Effects can be applied to an entire image, or just painted onto smaller section to create special effects. There are a large number of effects to choose from including hue shift, sepia, blur, tint paint brush, temperature and more. If you find that this is not enough, more tools are available as in-app purchases.
Photo editing on the iPad is never going to be the same as using a Mac or PC equipped with the likes of Photoshop, and many users were disappointed by the iOS version of Photoshop. However, TouchUp for iPad is an impressive little app that just goes to show what can be achieved.
