Outpost Security Suite FREE 7.1.1 (64-bit)

Outpost Security Suite Free is a collection of tools that will help you keep you safe from a range of online threats.

The program's core antivirus engine, for instance, checks incoming emails and the files you access for malware, blocking threats before they can infect your PC. Or you can run on-demand scans to check every corner of your hard drive for malicious code that may already be present.

You get a firewall that both blocks external hacker attacks, and prevents suspect programs from making unauthorised internet connections. For the most part it does this quietly, too, without the mass of pop-up alerts you'll get with some of the competition.

There's also a spam filter that integrates with Outlook, Outlook Express, Windows Mail and The Bat!, and then works to keep your inbox free of junk.

In-depth process monitoring means Outpost Security Suite is able to detect programs that are trying to carry out low-level network access, load drivers or perform other potentially suspect system chores. You'll be alerted whenever this happens, and the activity won't be allowed to proceed unless you give your express permission.

And the System Guard feature monitors core Windows components and settings, preventing them from being modified by unauthorised applications.

If you need more, Agnitum also offer an Outpost Security Suite Pro version that adds extra configuration options, the ability to password-protect files and folders, identity theft and browsing protection, and more. Prices start at $59.95 and you can find out more here.
