MetroTwit is a sleek and stylish Twitter client with a range of time-saving features.
Autocomplete for usernames and hashtags will help you tweet more quickly, for instance, and a built-in spell checker detects and corrects embarrassing errors.
There's easy URL shortening. And if you sometimes worry about clicking on other people's obscure links, then MetroTwit has one answer: just hover your mouse cursor over a reduced URL and you'll see a tooltip with the full and expanded version.
You also get system tray notifications which display excerpts from new tweet updates as they appear, while Windows 7 taskbar integration updates a taskbar counter to show you how many unread messages are awaiting your attention.
And the program comes with a highly configurable interface: you can resize and reorder the columns, apply themes and colour accents to ensure MetroTwit looks and works just as you'd like.
There are limitations, as for instance the program only works with a single Twitter account. This all makes MetroTwit very straightforward to learn, though, and once installed you'll be using it in no time at all.
MetroTwit 1.1 fixes a lot of issues. See the changelog for more info.
