Adobe Ideas 1.0 for iPad 1.0.1

Adobe is most famous for its Photoshop image editing software, but the company also has other weapons in its arsenal. Illustrator is a powerful design application and Adobe Ideas for iPad is a vector based drawing tool that compliments both of these programs.

Faced with a gigantic virtual canvas, you have simple vectors tools to work with to create designs, sketches and projects. There are 50 levels of undo available as well as a vector eraser to help you correct mistakes. Completed projects are displayed as thumbnails so you can browse through your gallery of work with ease, without the need to constantly open individual files to check what they are.

The app features a handy colour picker that can be used to extract individual colours from a sketch or a photograph with a view to creating a colour scheme for a project of your own. This means that as well as using the app to sketch ideas, you can also use it to brainstorm colour palettes.

The colour scheme idea is taken further thanks to the app's ability to create harmonised colour schemes based on the photos or images you select. Such images can also be used as a background so you can doodle over the top of an existing creation, or start from scratch.
