ACDSee Photo Manager is a versatile graphics application that includes an array of image management features.
There's an excellent thumbnail browser, for instance. Navigate your folders to view photos, drag a slider to resize the thumbnails if necessary, and rate or categorise your images in a click. Then you can sort, filter or group them by name, file size, folder, rating, category, date modified, and any item of metadata that your image contain: photographer, camera, city, data taken and more.
A more limited "Edit" module still includes useful photo tweaks. There's a red-eye reduction tool, colour balance, lighting and sharpness filters, basic geometric options (rotate, flip, crop, resize), and more than 40 special effects to, say, transform your selected image into a mosaic or oil painting.
Powerful sharing options will then turn your photos into slideshows using a variety of formats (stand-alone executable, screensaver, PDF, PPT, SWF), create HTML albums, videos, or burn them to CD or DVD. You even get 2GB of free disk space online so you can create internet photo albums, a very easy way to share your shots with friends and family.
And a pile of bonus features will help you import photos automatically, batch convert multiple images from one format to another, save hard drive space by locating duplicate images, and back up folders of photos to ensure your valuable memories are safe.
