Jitbit Macro Recorder is a straightforward tool that's designed to help you automate tedious and repetitive PC tasks.
The program is very easy to use. There are no complex options to configure, no scripting rules to learn - just click "Record" and start carrying out whatever actions you'd like to automate. Jitbit Macro Recorder remembers every mouse movement, click and keypress you make. And once the process has finished, you can use the stored macro to automatically follow the same steps, any time you like.
At least, that's the plan. We found our macros occasionally contained errors that meant our double-clicks missed their target, which meant the whole sequence fell apart. You can improve accuracy by playing with the settings, but be prepared to spend some time experimenting before you get everything working as you expect.
Once you're sure the program is functioning properly, then you can extend your macros with a number of useful commands. There are options to display messages, for instance, or launch a particular website. A macro could wait until a particular program is launched, then maybe perform some useful initialisation task. Other commands will run programs, clear the clipboard, copy files and more.
Jitbit Macro Recorder also allows you to insert loops and conditional statements into your macros, giving you some real scripting power. These will let you perform particular macro actions based on the existence of a file, window or process, the content of clipboard text, or the colour of a pixel.
And if you create something really useful, then you can even compile the macro into an executable file that anyone can run.
Jitbit Macro Recorder is easy to use and has some powerful automation features, but we did have some problems with macro reliability. Worth a try, then, but test the program carefully
