Double-clicking is a key Windows action, essential for selecting information, opening documents, launching applications, and more. And that's fine for many people, however if you've arthritis, RSI, or another condition that makes it difficult to time your clicks consistently, then PC use can be a real problem. But the solution could be easier than you think.

Download, unzip and run the tiny Double Click program (a mere 2.5KB) and it'll replace your middle mouse button with a double click function. Just move the mouse cursor over a file you'd like to open, click the middle mouse button once, and it'll work as a double click, launching the file immediately.

The program is very simple. There's no interface, no system tray icon, no settings to learn - it all just works. If you like the program, drag and drop it into your Startup folder to ensure it's running all the time. And if it causes problems for some reason, just run the program a second time and it will automatically uninstall the earlier copy.

And if you're a programmer, then there's an interesting bonus here. The file you'd download contains the assembly language source code in DblClick.asm, so you can take a closer look and find out exactly how it works.

An essential download for anyone who has problems double clicking
