Twittelator is not a new name when it comes to Twitter clients, but this version of the app has been written from the ground up with the iPad in mind. The iPad’s large screen is put to excellent use so your timeline is always visible, while the remainder of the space is used to compose tweets, work with drafts, perform searches and view profiles.
Twittelator can be used to work with multiple Twitter accounts and a range of different themes are available to ensure that everything is easy to see no matter what the lighting conditions. There is also the option of customising the background with your preferred image to give the app a completely personal feel.
iPad 2 user can shoot video and take photos using the built in cameras which can then be uploaded using Twittelator. The iPad 2’s camera can also be used to take a new profile picture. When it comes to uploading videos, there is a choice of five different hosting services and also the option of uploading to YouTube simultaneously.
The app can be used in both portrait and landscape mode, and the option to post tweets to your Facebook wall means that it is easy to interact with two social networks without the need to use separate apps. Anyone who finds Twitters 140 character limit too restrictive can opt to split longer messages into multiple tweets, or use the longer tweet option instead. An impressive app that puts many other Twitter clients to shame.
An iPad port of an app that genuinely feels like it was designed for the larger screen – a joy to work with.
