Disc burning is about much more than just copying files from your hard drive onto recordable CD or DVD, and this is a fact recognised by Roxio Toast 10 Titanium. As well as simple drag and drop creation of data, audio, video and mixed mode discs, Toast has plenty more tricks up its sleeve.
The Media Browser makes it easy to navigate through the files you may want to burn to disc and also includes the option to download online videos from video sites such as YouTube which can then be converted into DVDs. Captured videos can also be converted into formats which are compatible with and optimised for a range of portable devices.
When creating DVDs there are a number of menu themes to choose from and you have the option of creating compilation discs from a series of VIDEO-TS folders. Tools are also available for backing up the contents of your hard drive, streaming videos over the net from your Mac and designing disc covers.
The CD Spin Doctor tool can be used to record audio from CDs, LPS, tapes and other sources before editing and optimising them ready for burning to disc. If you're looking for more than just basic burning, Roxio Toast 10 Titanium is on hand to help you out and benefits hugely from a refined interface that helps to improve workflow.
The price tag attached to Roxio Toast 10 Titanium may at first appear off-putting, but this is an incredibly feature packed suite of tools which caters for every disc burning eventuality. If you're interested in working with high definition Blu-ray and HD DVDs, you'll need to look to the official HD/Blu-ray plugin for Toast, available directly from Roxio, that enables you to create, burn and produce High Definition content.
Note that there is no trial of Roxio Toast 10 Titanium. You only receive the software after you have made a purchase. We've included the download link here as a purchase link. This review is for information purposes only.
A well rounded burning suite for Mac users with plenty of extras for more advanced burning projects.
