Spider Player's authors call it "the ultimate music player", and while that might be an exaggeration, it's not too far from the truth - the program really does include just about audio feature you'll ever need.
You'll have no problem listening to any music source, for instance. Spider Player can handle almost 30 audio formats, as well as play CDs, stream files from the internet or play internet radio.
The program supports mono, stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound files. Internal 32-bit processing ensures you'll get the best possible sound quality. But if you need more, then you can also tweak the results with a ten-band graphic equaliser, or apply high quality 32-bit special effects using the integrated DSP Effects Manager (which supports Winamp DSP plugins, too).
Spider Player can also rip CDs, record internet radio (though only for 5 minutes in this version) and convert audio files to different formats. And there's an extensive playlist editor, a favourites manager to organise your top tracks, built-in access to the Shoutcast and Icecast internet radio directories - and more.
There's a Pro version of Spider Player that removes one or two restrictions, and includes even more features. So there's no 5 minute limit on recording internet radio, for example; you're not forced to rip CDs or convert audio files one track at a time; and you get Last.fm support, amongst other extras. It's yours for $19.95, but we'd try the free version first - it may provide all you need.
An attractive and feature-packed audio player
