FuturixImager is a capable image viewer that, despite its small size, still manages to squeeze in a host of useful features.

The program can import all the major file formats, for instance (29 in total). And it can convert your image, too, saving it to one of 18 formats, which as well as the standard options includes JPEG-XR, PSD, and even ASCII art, which attempts to reproduce the image in a plain text file. (Normally unsuccessfully, but full marks for trying.)

Basic editing options include the ability to automatically crop or equalise an image, adjust gain or sharpness, remove red-eye, resize or sharpen your shot.

There's support for many JPEG lossless transformations, allowing you to work on files without reducing their quality: you're able to rotate, mirror, transpose and cut an image, and remove metadata, amongst other actions.

The program can also import images directly from a camera or scanner, print them, show them as a slideshow, and more.

And if that's not enough then the author also makes several plug-ins available, adding extras like screen capture, support for importing RAW photos, and more.

FuturixImager has its limitations: there's no thumbnail browser, for instance. It's small, fast and easy to use, though, and features like the wide file format support and lossless JPG operations could make it worth a try.
