The update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has definitely made the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 faster. The tablet reacts quicker to touch input, and benchmark results indicate that the new software has indeed accelerated Samsung's tablet.
We compared the benchmark results of the new and old Android versions on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
It took a while, but Samsung finally rolled out the long-awaited Android 4.0 update for its 'old' Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500. The tablet from last year was supposed to get the upgrade from Android 3.2 to Android 4.0 sooner, but it took a bit longer than expected. Hardware.Info compared the performance of the two Android versions.
Visual changes have been introduced to the start screen, the app overview, the menu bar and the settings menu. ICS is also supposed to improve the performance of the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The tablet is built around the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and while it's no longer state-of-the-art, the update has definitely made the Tab 10.1 faster. The mobile device reacts quicker to touch input, and benchmark results indicate that the new software has indeed accelerated Samsung's tablet.
The Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 can be downloaded over the air (OTA) or via Kies. Samsung has yet to announce whether it will release a Jelly Bean update for the tablet.

Tim Oliver said: I got the ICS update maybe 3 months ago on my Samsung Galaxy TAB 101 Wi-Fi The reviewer is correct It DOES make the tablet more of a pleasure to use Ive been really happy with it mostly Sometimes it just freezes for approximately 8 minutes Im not sure what it is doing but its just gone Then it thaws and I can use it again It happens infrequently so I have not been able to track events leading up to the freeze Generally the update is good and the tablet is much more enjoyable
