All the information you need on where and how to get the best deal on an iPhone 5

Apple announced its iPhone 5 which will be available from a number of UK retailers and mobile operators. Updated 09/11/12

The iPhone 5 will be available to pre-order from todayto be released on 21 September at 8am. It was looking like EE, formally Everything Everywhere, could have an exclusive on the iPhone 5 with its 4G network but this is not the case.

As always, you can go straight to Apple to get your iPhone 5. Prices are set at £529, £599 and £699 for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models, respectively.

EE is the only network in the UK to provide 4G mobile broadband for the iPhone 5. All plans include unlimited calls and texts. The plans below are based on a 24 month contract but 12 month plans are available.

iPhone 5 from O2

The firm had an exclusive on the original iPhone but not this time.

"Like the look of the new iPhone 5? So do we – that’s why it’s coming to O2. More details to come over the next few days…" it said on Facebook.

O2's prices are on the 'On & On' plan with a two year contract. All tariffs come with unlimited texts, unlimited minutes and 1GB of data allowance.

Three also confirmed it will be selling the iPhone 5 from 21 September. Once again, no prices have been detailed.

The following table is the iPhone 5 on Three's 'The One Plan' tariff. This is a two year contract which comes with all-you-can-eat data, 2000 any network minutes, 5000 texts and 5000 three-to-three minutes.

iPhone 5 from Orange and T-Mobile

Both these mobile operators are owned by EE so will both be stocking the iPhone 5, too. However, users won't instantly get 4G connectivity when EE launches its network and tariffs. Instead you must upgrade/switch to EE which it promises will be easy and simple.

We've asked Virgin Media whether it will be selling the iPhone 5 but we're still waiting for a reply.
